You start at Buddhist caves that sheltered people when the White Huns attacked in ancient times, then move into the city's first sector to see the local market where Islamabad's earliest residents shopped. Between stops you pass through newer Islamabad: a modern mall, the Pak-China Friendship building (a gift from China), and the International Friendship Garden, where trees from different countries stand as symbols of alliance.

Saidpur Village closes the day. It sits where the Margalla Hills meet the city, its narrow streets and small buildings holding the oldest knowledge in Islamabad's history. The village has a vibrant view of both mountains and settlement, and it moves at a pace that lets you walk and absorb instead of just passing through.
