The experience

JM Atelier sits in the heart of Bergen, a private studio where you spend 2.5 hours learning watercolor techniques hands-on. The instructor has taught in Norway, France and Poland and is a member of the Polish Watercolor Association, with work shown at Biennales across Europe. You'll work with different papers, brushes and pigments as she guides you through the process of capturing Norwegian landscape (fjords, mountains, light) in watercolor.

All materials are provided, so you arrive with nothing but willingness to paint. The workshop welcomes both beginners trying watercolor for the first time and artists already familiar with the medium. By the end of the 2.5 hours, you leave with a finished painting you made yourself, not a demonstration piece or a take-home kit to finish later.

What’s included

  • All brushes, paints and paper needed for the workshop are provided.
  • guidance on watercolor techniques from an experienced instructor.
  • a finished painting you create and take home.
