The day starts with a ferry ride across the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland to Waiheke Island, giving you a first look at the coastline and the islands scattered across the water. Once you arrive at Matiatia terminal, your driver-guide meets you and takes the wheel for the scenic drive to EcoZip Adventures, perched high on Trig Hill in the heart of the island's wine country. Along the way you'll hear about Waiheke's history and see the landscape shift from coastal to vineyard to native forest.

At EcoZip Adventures, you get a safety briefing and gear up, then step onto the first of three dual ziplines. Each line exceeds 200 meters and runs side-by-side, so you can fly next to a friend or family member while you watch the Hauraki Gulf, Auckland skyline, and dense native bush roll past below. You choose how to ride (hands-free, facing forward, or turned sideways to take in the view), and the speed and angle stay in your control. The lines cross above vineyards and ancient forest, and the sensation of moving through that much open air is the core of the experience.

After the ziplines, your guide leads a walk through the native forest on the property, then drives you to two vineyards you pick from the island's roster.
