The Experience

We slid into those leather seats before sunrise, Queenstown still half asleep behind us. I remember watching the sky change through that glass roof—first pale grey, then streaks of orange over Lake Whakatipu. There’s something about being surrounded by all that water and stone that makes you feel tiny in a good way.

On the drive back to Queenstown, most people dozed off or watched raindrops chase each other across the windows.
