The Homer Tunnel, a 1.2 km passage through the Darran Mountains opened in 1953, marks your entry to Milford Sound itself. A knowledgeable onboard guide points out waterfalls and wildlife: dolphins, penguins, fur seals and native birds are possible sightings.
