The fantasy world comes first, then science fiction, then horror: each one designed to show a different side of practical effects work. Your guide explains how the crew approaches each genre, what materials they choose and why, and walks you through the problem-solving that goes into building something that has to work on camera and survive a film shoot. You can photograph and video everything, so you're capturing the sets, the creatures, the details: whatever catches your eye. The horror section is optional. You can skip it if the content doesn't suit your group, and your guide will let you know what's coming before you enter.

You finish with access to the Wētā Cave retail store, where you can browse merchandise and props, and you leave with a complimentary souvenir video of your visit.
