Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Rotterdam's key landmarks

  • Pass Rotterdam City Hall

  • See old harbor boats
  • Explore Grotekerk square
  • Enjoy bars and restaurants on Witte de Withstraat
  • View The Destroyed City sculpture

The experience

The game works like this: after you book, you'll get an email with a link and access code. Open it on your phone whenever you're ready, and the riddles start. Each one ties to a real spot in Rotterdam. You'll pass the town hall, hunt for clues at Markthal (a modern food market inside an architectural masterpiece), walk past the old harbor with its permanently docked boats, cross Grotekerk square in front of the Grote church, and wander Witte de Withstraat, a street full of independent bars and restaurants where you can grab coffee or the best fries in the Netherlands. The puzzles test how well you observe what's around you, and the story, stopping art thieves, gives the whole thing a reason to pay attention.

You can play solo on your phone or gather everyone around one screen. Either way, if a riddle stumps you, hints arrive to keep the game moving. You won't get stuck. The route covers the city's major public artworks, including the Destroyed City memorial (a bronze sculpture from 1953 that marks the German bombing of Rotterdam in 1940) and a statue of the Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn. The whole thing takes between one and two hours, so it fits a free afternoon or a morning before other plans.

This is a self-guided experience, which means no guide talks you through it and no fixed start time. You move at your own speed, stop for a drink or a snack whenever you want, and explore on your terms. Kids 12 and up handle it independently. Younger children can join with extra help from an adult. The riddles and hints come with your booking: no extra fees appear during the game.
