The experience

The helicopter leaves Kathmandu and climbs toward the Himalayas, passing over deep valleys and remote villages before reaching the high peaks. You'll fly within close range of Mount Everest itself (standing at 8,848 meters), and see the surrounding mountains in a way that ground-level trekking cannot match. The route includes a 15-minute hover near Kalapathar, where the view opens across the full range of peaks, and a landing at Pheriche beside the glacier river, where a 360-degree panorama of valleys and golden mountains surrounds you.

The helicopter touches down at Lukla Airport, one of the world's most challenging airstrips, perched on a steep mountainside. From there, you'll fly to Everest View Hotel near Namche Bazaar for breakfast: a meal taken at altitude with unobstructed Himalayan views. The hotel sits high enough that the mountains dominate every direction, and the breakfast itself is the only time you'll step out and stand still. After that, the helicopter carries you back to Kathmandu. Private transportation picks you up from your hotel in the city and returns you at the end of the day.
