The experience
A Berber family who inherited their pottery tradition from ancestors will teach you the craft in their village workshop. You'll learn about Rif Berber life as you work clay, then make your own small object to take with you. The 38km drive out takes about an hour. The family meets you with coffee or tea before the hands-on part begins.
After you've finished making, lunch happens in the family's home or workspace, not a restaurant tour stop, but a meal cooked by the people who just taught you. The whole experience runs five hours from pickup in Chefchaouen to your return, with the pottery work and lunch taking up the core of the day.
What’s included
- Private transportation from Chefchaouen to the village and back.
- pottery materials and instruction.
- coffee and tea on arrival.
- lunch cooked by the family.
- English-speaking guide throughout.
