The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup and a drive to Majorelle Garden, where you skip the line at the gate. The 12-acre landscape holds 15 bird species, fountains, and cactus gardens laid out by French artist Jacques Majorelle. You walk the paths at your own pace, taking in the garden's signature blue walls and the varied plantings that make it distinct from other Moroccan gardens.

After Majorelle, the driver takes you to the Palmeraie, the ancient palm groves that ring Marrakech. Before you ride, the camel handlers teach you to mount and settle into the saddle. The ride itself lasts 30 to 60 minutes, moving through the palms at the camel's natural rhythm. You'll stop for tea at a spot deep in the grove, then return to meet the driver for the ride back to your hotel. The whole tour runs 3 to 4 hours from start to finish.

Two versions are available at checkout: the garden and camel ride alone, or the same tour plus entry to the YSL Museum.
