The Experience

The first thing I noticed was the color—this pale, stony gold stretching out from Marrakech, nothing like the Sahara dunes you see in photos. Our driver wove us through the city’s edges, past Gueliz and these tangled palm groves, until suddenly it was just us and the open Agafay desert.
