The experience

The driver picks you up from your Marrakech hotel at 3pm and takes you to the Agafay Desert base camp, where the team welcomes you with tea and local herbs. Before the camel ride starts, you'll wear a traditional blue robe and Sahara headscarf to dress like a nomad, then mount your camel for a one-hour ride across the desert landscape. As you ride, the snow-capped Atlas Mountains frame the horizon, and as the sun begins to set, your guide leads you to a high plateau where the light shifts to orange across the sky.

After the camel ride, you switch to a quad bike for a one-hour ride to find the best vantage point for watching the sunset from the plateau. The quad gives you speed and a different angle on the desert terrain, and the timing is built around catching the light at its most dramatic. Once the sun dips, you head to the Berber camp.

Dinner happens in a private Berber tent or outside under the stars, with views of the Atlas Mountains. A traditional meal is served as you sit with the clear night sky above. When the evening winds down, your driver brings you back to your Marrakech hotel or any other location in the city where you want to be dropped.
