The experience

The driver picks you up at your hotel in Agadir and drives about 45 minutes to the quad bike base. Once there, the guide walks you through how the bike works, fits you with a helmet and goggles, and runs through the safety briefing. Then you ride for roughly 90 minutes across forest paths, rocky hills, argan-lined trails and beach sand: the route shifts between terrain so you're not on one surface the whole time. You'll stop for about ten minutes to take pictures and soak in the desert views. On clear days the Atlantic Ocean is visible from the higher points.

After the quad ride, you swap to sandboarding on the dunes. The guide sets you up and you get to ride the slopes while the panoramic landscape spreads out around you. If you book the sunset option, this is when the light turns golden across the mountains. On the drive back to the starting point, there's a stop at a Berber village where you sit down for mint tea with fresh bread and amlou. A traditional Moroccan paste made from argan oil and almonds. The driver then takes you back to your hotel.
