The experience

The day starts at the Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, a 40-metre stainless steel figure on horseback 54 kilometres east of Ulaanbaatar. From there you drive about 20 kilometres into Terelj National Park, where the landscape opens into high valleys ringed by rock formations. After lunch with a nomadic family inside their traditional ger, you mount up for horseback riding with a local guide who leads the ride through the park's terrain.
