Jump, swing and photograph three cenotes in one morning

A private snorkeling tour from Valladolid visits three cenotes over six hours: the open-air Oxman cenote where you jump and swing on a rope into the water, a semi-covered cavern for underwater photography, and Suytun's iconic covered cenote. A professional guide leads the snorkeling at each stop, captures photos for social media, and the day ends with lunch and free time in the 16th-century town of Valladolid.

The experience

The tour starts at Oxman cenote, an open pool where the main event is the jump itself. You wade in, climb to a platform, and drop into the water, or take the Tarzan swing that launches you out over the cenote before you land. Snorkel as much as you want at this stop. The guide is there to photograph the moment and help you get the shot. From there you move to a semi-covered cenote, a cavern that opens to the sky through a hole in the roof, which creates the kind of light that makes underwater photos work. The third stop is Suytun, the covered cenote that has become famous on social media for its cathedral-like chamber and the way the water reflects the stone ceiling.

After the three cenotes, the tour includes lunch at El Mesón del Marqués, a restaurant in Valladolid's colonial center, and free time to walk the 16th-century streets. Transportation is private throughout, in an air-conditioned vehicle, and the guide speaks English, Spanish or German depending on your preference. All the snorkeling equipment is provided, and the professional photos taken during the day are yours to keep and share.
