The experience
The tour runs four to six hours depending on how long you spend at each site. Your guide picks you up from your hotel in a private air-conditioned van and takes you first to the Basilica of Guadalupe, where you'll learn about the apparition and walk the grounds of both the modern basilica and the older colonial church. From there you drive to Teotihuacán, the pre-Hispanic city that flourished from 200 BC to 800 AD. The guide explains the culture, economy, religious practices and construction methods as you move through the site.
At Teotihuacán you'll see the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, the Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl and the Avenue of the Dead. The guide tailors the pace and focus to your group's interests, whether you want to climb the pyramids, linger at particular structures or move through more quickly. Bottled water is provided throughout the day.
Admission to Teotihuacán is not included in the base price. You'll pay the archaeological zone fee separately at checkout if you want entry. The tour is wheelchair accessible and suitable for families with infants in strollers, though the site involves walking and climbing stairs at your own pace.

What's the difference between the new and old basilicas at Guadalupe?
The Basilica of Guadalupe has both a modern basilica built in the 1970s and an older colonial-era church. Your guide takes you through both so you can see how the site has developed while learning the history of the apparition that makes it sacred to Mexican Catholics.
Can I climb the pyramids at Teotihuacán?
