You board a flat-bottomed boat—the word "trajinera" comes from the Aztec transport system these canals once were—and spend an hour drifting through the waterways. Food vendors work the banks, artisans sell crafts from smaller boats, and if you're there on a weekend, mariachis float past playing for tips.
