“Wait, that’s actually Pelican Rock?” I asked our guide, who grinned and nodded as we drifted right past it: the rock looked almost golden in the late sun. The Tropicat catamaran felt bigger than I’d pictured, but everyone just spread out on the deck or leaned against the railings, drinks in hand. There was this low hum of jazz (I think it was Coltrane?) mixing with laughter and clinking glasses. Someone near us tried to pronounce “Playa del Amor” and got a round of applause from the crew: honestly, it set the tone for the whole Los Cabos sunset cruise. No pressure to dress up or pose. Just people watching Cabo San Lucas slide by in slow motion.
The Arch of Cabo San Lucas came up so suddenly I nearly dropped my glass. Our captain slowed down for photos, not rushed at all, just letting everyone get their shot.
