The day starts with a boat ride. You board a professional inflatable speedboat and head out into the bay to reach the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, the natural rock formation where the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez meet. On the way you pass the sea lion colony and cruise past the resort hotels and beaches that line the coastline. The boat ride itself is the first event: fast enough to feel like something, close enough to the Arch to photograph it properly.
After the boat returns to shore, you transfer to a minivan for the drive to San Jose del Cabo. The first stop is The Glass Factory, where you watch local artisans blow glass using techniques that have been passed down for generations. You see the process happen in front of you: the heating, the shaping, the finished pieces. Next is a chocolate factory, where the guide explains the history of cacao and its place in ancient Mexico. Then comes free time to walk through the downtown area, visit the main square and the local mission, and browse for souvenirs. The pace here is yours. You are not herded through.
