The experience

The day starts on the water. A glass bottom boat takes you out for 45 minutes to see The Arch, the rock formation that defines Los Cabos, and the smaller formations around it (Pelican's Rock, Scooby Doo, Porky Pig) along with the fish moving below. From there, the guide drives you to Finisterra viewpoint, where you stand between the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sea of Cortés on the other, both visible from the same spot.

Cabo San Lucas comes next: the guide takes you through the bar district, stopping at Cabo Wabo, The Giggling Marlin, and El Squid Roe, then to a glass blowing factory where artisans work molten glass by hand. The route then follows the scenic highway north, passing the resort hotels and golf courses, before arriving in San Jose del Cabo. The town centers on the Mission, founded in 1773 by Jesuit Padre Tamaral. After a walk through the mission, you get free time to shop in the town center and, if you want it, to taste tequila: almond, caramel, chocolate, coffee, silver, smooth and aged varieties are available. The return to your resort or the cruise terminal in Cabo San Lucas closes the day.

The van is air-conditioned and no older than four years. The guide speaks fluent English and holds certification. Pickup from your hotel is included, and the tour runs five to six hours.

What exactly is The Arch and why do people come to see it?
