The experience

The tour starts at the church of San Pedro y San Pablo in Sotuta, about 10 minutes from the cenotes. Once you arrive, the guide walks you through the site's common areas and explains what the day will hold, including a look at the ecological toilets and where to store your things. Then you bike 1.2 kilometers through the local flora and fauna to reach the first cenote: a semi-open pool where light filters through the rock above. On the way back, the guide prepares you for the second stop: a cave-type cenote called Virgin, where you swim inside a cavern and experience the cenote in a completely different way.

The Connection Experience includes a traditional Yucatecan lunch with a starter, main course, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks. The Adventure Experience does not. Both options come with the bike, helmet, guide in Spanish and English, and basic tourist insurance that covers medical expenses. The tour is open to small groups, so you'll share the experience with other travelers.
