Step-by-step itinerary

Private customizable Cozumel tour

  • Choose Jeep or van transport
  • Visit hidden beaches and scenic spots
  • Explore cultural areas and downtown
  • Discover Mayan ruins history
  • Relax on quiet beaches
  • Snorkel in crystal-clear waters
  • Stop for authentic Mexican cuisine

The Experience

Palm Beach Cozumel is where the tour begins and ends, a quieter stretch of turquoise water and white sand with shaded areas, lounge chairs and staff on hand. From there, your guide takes you wherever your group wants to go—no preset route, no large crowds, no tight schedule. You can snorkel through coral reefs in clear water, drive inland to see Mayan ruins, wander the town and downtown shops, find a local restaurant for authentic Mexican food, or discover the hidden beaches and scenic spots only residents know. The five-hour window gives you room to linger at each stop instead of rushing through a checklist.

You choose the vehicle when you book: a Jeep Renegade for a smaller group or a spacious van that seats up to twelve, which works well for families and friends traveling together. Both are air-conditioned, and bottled water is provided. Your guide is a local who knows the island and shares insider knowledge as you move between stops. Children from age one are welcome, and infant seats are available if you need them.

The entrance fee to Palm Beach Cozumel ($20 value) and transportation from the cruise terminal are already included in the price. Food and drinks beyond the bottled water are on you, and the beach club closes at 4 p.m., so plan your return to the ship accordingly. If you need a ride back to the terminal after the tour ends, that's arranged separately.

Top questions

Can I snorkel at multiple reefs during the tour, or is it just one spot?

The tour is fully customizable, so your guide can take you to snorkel in the coral reefs as part of your route, but the number of snorkel stops and which reefs you visit depend on what your group chooses and how much time you want to spend in the water.

What's included in the five-hour tour, and what do I pay for separately?

The tour includes entrance to Palm Beach Cozumel, transportation in your chosen vehicle (Jeep or van), bottled water and a local guide. Food, drinks and any activities or attractions beyond the beach are not included, though your guide can take you to a local restaurant if your group wants to eat.

Do I need to get back to my cruise ship at a specific time?

Yes—the beach club closes at 4 p.m., and you'll need to arrange your own transportation back to the cruise terminal after the tour ends, so plan your return with your ship's departure in mind.

Is this tour suitable for young children and babies?

Yes, children from age one are welcome, and specialized infant seats are available in the vehicle. Infants and small children can also ride in a pram or stroller if you bring one.

What's the difference between booking the Jeep and the van?

The Jeep Renegade is better for smaller groups and offers a more intimate experience, while the van seats up to twelve and works well for families or groups of friends traveling together. Both vehicles are air-conditioned and follow the same customizable route.

Will my guide speak English?

Yes, your local guide speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese, so you can communicate comfortably throughout the tour.
