Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Mayan culture and local flavors

  • Visit recreated Mayan village
  • Watch Mayan dance and rituals
  • Participate in cacao and tamal making
  • Taste natural chewing gum
  • Learn traditional ball game
  • Explore local market and taste fruits
  • Enjoy authentic meal at island eatery
  • Drink cold cerveza or agua de horchata

The experience

The tour opens at a recreated Mayan settlement deep in the jungle, where live characters demonstrate the rituals and daily life of the ancient region. You'll watch a Mayan dance performance, participate in hands-on workshops making cacao chocolate and tamales, taste natural chewing gum, and learn the rules of the traditional ball game. The setting is immersive. You're surrounded by the jungle itself, not watching from a distance.

From there, the route moves to Cozumel's local market, where the day's real texture emerges. You walk through stalls of native produce, watch how trade actually happens on the island, and taste whatever is in season: fresh fruit, just-made tortillas, whatever the vendors have that morning. The market is loud and colorful. It's a working space, not a tourist stage, and the photographs tend to be strong.

The final stop is a local restaurant where the island's food culture lives now. You sit down to a full lunch of traditional Cozumel dishes made with fresh ingredients, cold beer included in your ticket (or agua de horchata if you prefer), and the casual rhythm of how locals eat. Transportation between all three stops is included, as is entry to the Mayan village.

What’s included

  • transportation between all three stops.
  • a full lunch at a local island restaurant with traditional Cozumel dishes.
  • two beers or your choice of soft drinks and agua de horchata.
  • soda and pop throughout the day.
