The experience

You get picked up from your Cancún hotel and ride in deluxe transportation to Chichén Itzá, where a bilingual accredited guide leads a one-hour tour of the ruins followed by an hour of free exploration. A boxed lunch (sandwich, fruit, juice, cookie) and two bottled waters come onboard, so you eat during the drive and stay fueled for the afternoon.

The day splits between two cenotes. At Cenote Suytún, you swim in the underground lagoon surrounded by rock formations, with life jackets provided. Afterward, a buffet lunch at the nearby restaurant lets you try local Yucatecan dishes. Cenote Ik-kil comes next: a deeper cenote with a rope swing and platform diving, again with complimentary life jackets. Both stops are built for swimming, not just looking.
