The experience

Loreto's desert and coastline form the backbone of this four-hour ride. You pilot your own Speed UTV through streams, along the base of the Sierra de la Giganta, and across open terrain that mirrors the famous Baja 1000 rally route. A local guide leads the way and handles the navigation, so you focus on driving. The route builds in stops at viewpoints overlooking the islands of the Marine National Park and the village of Loreto itself, giving you moments to step out and take in the scale of what you're moving through.

The ride finishes at La Picazón, a beachfront restaurant where you sit down with a meal and a drink (one per person for ages 18+), facing Isla Coronado across the water. Helmets and all safety equipment come with the UTV. Children from age 10 can ride as passengers. Younger children and infants can join if they're in a stroller or pram, though they won't be driving. The guide speaks English or Spanish, and the terrain suits all fitness levels. The work is steering and throttle control, not endurance.

Is this one for you?You drive the UTV yourself, so this suits anyone comfortable handling a vehicle on off-road terrain and wanting hands-on control of the ride. If you prefer to be a passenger while someone else navigates, look for a guided tour where the driver does the steering.
