The arroyo follows the path of the Baja 1000 off-road races and the historical route taken by missionaries to San Javier.

You operate the ATV yourself after a safety briefing and riding instruction. The guide leads the route. Helmet, goggles, gloves, beverages and hotel pickup are included. The experience
You get picked up at your hotel and transported to the start, where the guide fits you with a helmet, goggles and gloves, then walks you through the basics of riding and safety. Once you're ready, you follow the guide on your ATV through Loreto's streets to a photo stop with the islands of Loreto behind you as the backdrop. From there the trail climbs into the arroyo: the same terrain used in the Baja 1000 off-road races and the historical route missionaries traveled to San Javier centuries ago.
The ride continues up the arroyo for roughly 25 to 30 minutes until you reach Las Virgines, a natural spring with water pools. You'll stop here to rest, drink a beverage and hike a short way to see the pools and where the spring begins. Then you and your guide head back down the trail, through the city, and return to base camp for transport back to your hotel. The whole outing runs 2 to 2.5 hours door to door.
