The experience

You're picked up from your hotel and driven 45 minutes to Tierra Sagrada, a private ranch hidden in the backcountry. Once you meet the UTV team, you climb into a Polaris built for two passengers and take the controls yourself. The guide leads the way through the terrain (rocky washes, sandy trails, canyons and desert landscape), while you handle the driving. This is hands-on: you feel the vehicle respond to the terrain, make your own line through the obstacles, and experience the actual challenge of off-roading rather than riding along. The guide shares information about the region and its environment as you go, and you'll stop to take in views and photograph the desert.

After the ride, you return to Tierra Sagrada for an unlimited Mexican buffet with fresh salads, pasta, chicken mole, BBQ ribs, handmade quesadillas, beans and salsas. The tequila tasting follows, paired with ice-cold beer. Full protective gear and a helmet are provided throughout. The return transfer to your hotel wraps up the five-hour outing.
