The experience
The ride starts in the hills above El Sosiego Ranch, where the trail opens onto views of Ceralvo Island: also called Jacques Cousteau Island for its marine life. You'll move through Saguaro Cactus Desert on routes chosen for what you'll see: local flora, wildlife, and the landscape itself. The guide speaks English or Spanish and knows which paths work best for your level, whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider. Children from age 8 can join.
The trail descends all the way to the beach. Once there, you can swim alongside your horse and pause to refresh with water or soda. Natural hot springs bubble up from the ground near the shore: a chance to soak and recover after riding. The whole outing runs about 90 minutes from start to finish.
After the ride, you'll head to the Farm 2 Table restaurant at the ranch for a meal. Pickup is included in the booking if you're within 10 kilometers. Beyond that, transport costs $2 per kilometer. The ranch welcomes service animals, and public transportation options exist nearby if you prefer to arrange your own way there.
