You meet at LA CASE MADISAIL in Case Pilote at 8:45 am and board Fildou, a racing trimaran. Pol, the captain and diving instructor, explains the boat and the day ahead while you settle in. The sail out to the snorkeling site uses wind alone: the engine stays off except in rare weather or safety situations. He picks the anchorage based on conditions: a quiet bay somewhere between Anse du Four and Grande Anse where the water is calm and the reef is close.
Once anchored, you put on snorkeling gear and enter the water with Pol. The reef here holds turtles, groupers, parrotfish and smaller species that move through the shallows. Pol knows the site and stays with the group. After an hour in the water, you climb back aboard and rest on the nets or the deck while Gaëlle, the cook, finishes lunch: a mix of local and organic ingredients, prepared fresh that morning. A Creole cocktail made with local rum comes first. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available if you request them when booking.
