The experience

The tour opens with a 4–5 hour drive east from Antananarivo toward Andasibe, stopping at Peyrieras Reserve to see colorful chameleons, geckos, iguanas, butterflies and endemic frogs. You then visit Vakona's Park, a private sanctuary where rescued lemurs live in semi-wild conditions and may approach you for photos, followed by Crocodile Lake to spot crocodiles, birds, tortoises and the elusive fossa. In the evening, a nocturnal visit to VOIMMA Reserve lets you encounter mouse lemurs, nocturnal chameleons and night-active frogs before you overnight in Andasibe.

The second day centers on Andasibe National Park (Analamazaotra), where the Indri Indri, the largest living lemur, calls from the rainforest canopy alongside sifaka lemurs, common brown lemurs, rare birds and orchids. From there, you drive through Madagascar's highlands and rural villages to Antsirabe, then continue to Morondava on the third day, passing through volcanic landscapes and cooler mountain terrain. The fourth day splits between Morondava's local market and beach, then the world-famous Avenue of the Baobabs in the afternoon, where millennium-old trees frame a sunset. On the return journey, you cross back through scenic landscapes and traditional villages, with an optional stop at Betafo's thermal center if you want a thermal spring massage.

The final day drives you back to Antananarivo with a stop at Ambatolampy, where local artisans craft aluminum pots and pans using centuries-old methods and you can watch and buy handmade souvenirs. A visit to Analakely Market for spices, handicrafts and final souvenirs precedes your transfer to the airport or hotel. The entire route is covered in an air-conditioned vehicle with a live guide. All park entry fees and accommodation at 3-star hotels are included.
