The tour starts with a drive from Antananarivo to Andasibe, where the first afternoon takes you to a reserve for insects, reptiles and amphibians—chameleons, tomato frogs, geckos and bats. That same afternoon you move to Lemurs Island to watch the Dancing lemur, Bamboo lemur, Brown lemur, Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur and Red Ruffed Lemur in the open. A crocodile farm follows, where endemic aquatic birds, leaf-tailed geckos and tortoises share the grounds. You stay overnight at Hotel Andasibe Cyperus in your choice of double, twin or family room.

The second morning is the centerpiece: a guided hike through the national park itself to find diurnal lemurs in their natural habitat. This is where the Indri Indri appears—the largest living lemur species in the world—along with brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs, the Diademed Sifaka (the "dancing lemur"), birds, frogs and other wildlife. The walk is led by a local guide who knows where to listen and look. After the hike, you return to Antananarivo.

The evening of day one includes a separate nocturnal walk through the V.O.I.M.M.A Community Reserve with a local guide, where you observe night-active lemurs, chameleons, frogs and night birds.
