The experience
The tour starts at your hotel at 9:00 AM, and your guide meets you there to begin eating almost immediately. Hamra is ten minutes away, already busy with the morning bakery crowd. This is where you taste manouche fresh from the wood-fired oven, kaak bread rings sold by street vendors, and fatayer stuffed with spinach, cheese or meat. Your guide knows exactly which bakery to go to and what to order. This is breakfast, Beirut-style, and it sets the tone for the morning.
From Hamra you move to Rue d'Arménie in Achrafieh, one of Beirut's most vibrant and most underrated street food streets. Here the shawarma is hand-carved, the falafel is fried to order, and the kafta is grilled over charcoal right in front of you. Fresh-pressed juices (pomegranate, orange, sugarcane) come from street vendors alongside. Your guide navigates the street with local knowledge, taking you to the spots that locals actually use rather than the ones built for tourists.
Bourj Hammoud, Beirut's Armenian quarter, is the stop that surprises people most. The Armenian community has been in Lebanon since 1915, and their food culture is one of the most extraordinary contributions to Beirut's culinary identity. You taste soujouk, spiced Armenian sausage, and basterma, intensely flavoured cured beef, alongside Armenian pastries, aged cheeses, and pickled vegetables that fill the neighbourhood's shops. Your guide introduces you to vendors and products that most Beirut visitors never encounter.
The tour ends in Downtown Beirut with the sweet finale: Lebanese pastries, fresh-pressed juices, and ice cream to close out four hours of serious eating. A possible stop at Hanna Mitri, one of Beirut's most beloved and longest-running ice cream institutions, serves Lebanese-style ice cream in flavours that have been made the same way for generations. The exact stops depend on what the group has appetite for. Your guide reads the room and makes it right. After four neighbourhoods, you return to your hotel around 1:00 PM.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Arabic.
What kind of food do you actually eat on the Hamra stop?
Hamra's morning bakeries produce manouche fresh from the wood-fired oven topped with zaatar and olive oil or cheese, kaak bread rings encrusted with sesame seeds, and fatayer stuffed with spinach, cheese or meat: all pulled from the oven minutes before you taste them.
Is Bourj Hammoud really that different from the other neighbourhoods on the tour?
Bourj Hammoud is Beirut's Armenian quarter, and the food culture there is distinct: soujouk and basterma are the headline acts, but the aged cheeses and pickled vegetables that fill the neighbourhood's shops are products most Beirut visitors never encounter. The Armenian community has been in Lebanon since 1915, and their culinary contribution is one of the most extraordinary in the city.
What happens if the group is still hungry after four hours?
The tour ends in Downtown Beirut with Lebanese sweets, fresh juices, and ice cream, and the exact stops flex with the group's appetite and interest. Your guide reads the room and makes it right. The only fixed rule is that nobody leaves hungry.
Do I need to arrange my own way to the first stop, or does the guide meet me somewhere?
Your guide meets you at your hotel at 9:00 AM and picks you up there. The eating starts almost immediately. Hotel drop-off is included at the end of the tour around 1:00 PM.
