The experience
Your day starts with pickup from your Nairobi hotel. The first stop is the Nairobi National Museum, founded in 1920 and open every day of the year. The museum holds Kenya's heritage across art, history, and culture in one place. A foundation for understanding what you'll see later. From there, the guide drives you to the city centre and walks you through August 7th Memorial Park, a quiet space along Haile Selassie Avenue dedicated to those lost in the 1998 bomb blast. The park's notice board lists the names of the victims.
Next is the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, one of Nairobi's tallest buildings. You can ride to the rooftop for a view across the city, then have an hour free for lunch at your own expense. After lunch, the route heads to Bomas of Kenya. The word "Boma" comes from Swahili for an enclosed homestead, and the site recreates the living styles, crafts, and homesteads of Kenya's major ethnic groups. The traditional dance and acrobatic show runs from 2:30pm to 4:00pm on weekdays and 3:30pm to 5:15pm on weekends and public holidays. The guide then drops you at your preferred location in Nairobi.
