The Experience
Your safari begins with a morning pickup from your Mombasa hotel and a scenic drive inland toward Tsavo East, one of Kenya's largest wildlife reserves. The route crosses Kenyan countryside and small villages before entering the park's open plains. Your first game drive happens the same afternoon, and the landscape is built for spotting—wide grasslands, scattered acacia trees, and the distinctive red dust that coats Tsavo's famous elephants. You'll pass the Galana River and see the Yatta Plateau, which holds one of the world's longest lava flows. By evening you settle into your lodge or camp for dinner under the African sky.
Day two is a full day of game drives. An early breakfast precedes a morning drive through the plains, where the cooler hours bring animals out to feed and drink.
