If you want to see Aqaba’s famous shipwrecks and colorful marine life up close, this private snorkeling tour is a solid pick. You’ll get hands-on help from a local guide, all the gear you need, and even photos to take home. It’s relaxed, personal, and you’ll probably spot something you’ve never seen before.
The sun was already warming the sand when we reached South Beach. You can either meet us there or catch a quick ride from the city—Aqaba’s taxis are everywhere, and the drivers usually know the spot. Our guide, Sami, handed out the gear and checked each mask for a snug fit. He’s been doing this for years and knows every trick to stop your goggles from fogging up. There’s a faint salty breeze and the sound of gulls overhead, mixed with the distant thump of music from a nearby beach café.
After a short intro—nothing too formal, just the basics and a couple of jokes—we practiced breathing with the snorkels right at the water’s edge. The Red Sea here is calm in the morning, and you can see your toes through the clear shallows. Once everyone felt good, we waded in. The first thing you notice is how the water cools your skin, but then you spot flashes of color—parrotfish darting between bits of coral, and if you’re lucky, a sea turtle gliding by. Sami pointed out the old tank wreck, half-covered in soft coral. He snapped a few photos while we floated above it. The whole time, he kept an eye on us, but let us explore at our own pace. By the end, my fingers were wrinkled and I didn’t want to leave.
Nope! Our guide will show you everything you need to know and help you practice before heading out.
Sure, but we provide good quality snorkels and masks if you want to use ours.
There are basic facilities nearby—nothing fancy, but enough to change and rinse off.
The main wrecks are close to shore and our guide stays with you the whole time. Just let us know if you’re nervous in the water.
You’ll get bottled water, a private local guide who knows the area well, and full use of our snorkeling equipment. We’ll also take photos and videos during your swim and send them to you afterward—no extra charge.
