Snorkeling in Aqaba: Glass-Bottom Boat Private Cruise
You see the sunken ship from inside the boat before you ever get wet.
A private glass-bottom boat cruise in Aqaba lets you watch coral, schools of fish and a sunken ship underwater without leaving your seat, then switch to snorkeling gear and swim in the Red Sea. Step-by-step itinerary
Glass-bottom boat tour and snorkeling
- Board glass-bottom boat in Aqaba
- View coral and fish underwater
- See sunken ship through boat bottom
- Use snorkeling gear to swim
- Swim with inflatable equipment if needed
The experience
The glass-bottom hull is the draw here. You sit inside the boat and look down through the transparent floor at the reef below: coral formations, schools of fish moving together, and the wreck of a ship on the seabed. No gear needed for this part, no swimming required. It's the snorkeling without the commitment, and it's what makes this different from jumping straight into the water.
Once you've seen enough from inside, the boat stops and you get in the water with snorkeling gear. The same reef you watched from above is now around you. Inflatable equipment is there if you're not a strong swimmer or you want extra flotation. Bottled water is on board for all cruises. On the 3-, 4- and 5-hour options, you also get a changing room, shower and towels so you're not dripping for the rest of the day.
You pick the length that fits your schedule (2, 3, 4 or 5 hours), and the boat is yours alone. A live guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and several other languages. The boat is wheelchair accessible, and specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with small children.
