A private full-day Tokyo tour with your own driver lets you build the itinerary around the sites that matter to you (Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Skytree, Ginza, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Crossing) without navigating public transit or hailing taxis between them. The tour runs ten hours with bottled water included. Pickup is arranged, and a live English or Hindi-speaking guide is available. You choose from three vehicle options at checkout: a luxury chauffeur drive, a spacious six-seater van, or a larger six to thirteen-seater for groups.

The experience

The core of this tour is control. Instead of following a fixed route that stops at sites you may not care about, you tell the driver which neighborhoods matter to you and how long to spend at each one. Senso-ji Temple draws over 20 million visitors a year. It's Japan's most visited temple, over 1,400 years old, with the famous Kaminarimon Thunder Gate and Nakamise Street's traditional shops running alongside it. Tokyo Skytree, at 634 meters the world's tallest freestanding tower, has two observation decks at 350 and 450 meters. The upper one spirals in glass so you're suspended above the city, and on clear days Mount Fuji is visible. Tokyo Tower, built in 1958 as a symbol of Japan's post-war recovery, stands 333 meters tall and offers its own panoramic views. Ginza is the luxury shopping district: Ginza Six alone has over 240 stores, rooftop gardens and art installations, while Mitsukoshi, Tokyo's oldest department store, blends history with contemporary shopping. You move between these on your own schedule.

The other stops depend on what you want. Harajuku's Takeshita Street is the center of youth fashion and kawaii culture, lined with boutiques and crepe vendors. Meiji Shrine sits in a forest of over 100,000 trees in the heart of the city, offering a quiet counterpoint to the busier neighborhoods. The Imperial Palace grounds include the East Gardens with seasonal blooms, though the inner palace is closed to the public. Shibuya Crossing is the world's busiest pedestrian intersection: 2,500 people cross at each light change in a scramble pattern where all traffic stops and people cross from every direction at once. Tsukiji Outer Market, known as Japan's Food Town, has wholesale and retail shops alongside eateries serving everything from classic dishes to the latest trends. You decide which of these fit your day.

A private driver means no waiting for trains or figuring out which line goes where. The vehicle picks you up and takes you directly between stops. Bottled water is included. The tour runs ten hours total. You'll have a live guide speaking English or Hindi depending on the option you choose. Three vehicle types are available at checkout (a luxury chauffeur drive for a smaller group, a spacious six-seater van, or a larger vehicle for six to thirteen passengers), so the choice depends on your group size and comfort level.

What’s included

  • Pickup arranged at your hotel or meeting point.
  • a private driver for the full ten hours.
  • bottled water throughout the day.
  • a live guide speaking English or Hindi (depending on your selected option).
  • and the freedom to customize which of the eight neighborhoods (Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo Skytree, Ginza, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower and Shibuya Crossing). You visit and how long to spend at each.
