Create your own manga page the way professionals do, in two and a half hours.

A manga drawing workshop in Tokyo where you learn the full creative process—from rough sketch to finished panel with speech bubbles—guided by a professional manga artist with over 20 years of experience. The workshop runs 2.5 hours, covers all the traditional techniques, and you walk out with your own completed manga artwork. No drawing experience needed; materials and instruction are included. Minimum two participants; solo bookings are charged at the two-person rate.

The Experience

You start with ideation and rough sketching, then move through the steps a professional manga artist follows: drafting the lines, inking them in, filling solid blacks, layering screen tones, and lettering speech bubbles. The guide—an active manga artist—walks you through each phase so you understand not just how to do it, but why the sequence matters. The whole process fits into 2.5 hours, which means you're drawing the entire time, not watching demonstrations.

All materials come with the workshop: pens, brushes, screen tone sheets, and everything else you need to move from blank page to finished panel. You don't bring supplies or worry about what to buy. The guide speaks English, Spanish, or Chinese, so the instruction is in your language. By the end, you have a piece of manga you made yourself—not a souvenir, but actual work you can show people or keep as proof you spent an afternoon inside the craft behind series like One Piece or Naruto.

The workshop accepts groups as small as two people. If you're booking alone, the fee is the same as for two, so bringing a friend or family member splits the cost. Children can attend; infants sit on an adult's lap. Public transportation runs nearby if you need to reach the location.

What’s included

  • Professional instruction from a manga artist with over 20 years of experience.
  • all drawing tools and materials including screen tone sheets.
  • guidance through the full manga creation process from sketch to finished panel.
  • your completed artwork to take home.

Top questions

What exactly do I draw during the two and a half hours?

You create a single manga panel or page, moving through the full professional workflow: rough sketch, clean draft, inking, solid blacks, screen tone layers, and speech bubbles. The guide helps you at each step so the finished piece is complete and ready to take with you.

Do I need to know how to draw to join the workshop?

No. The guide works with people of all skill levels, and many participants who worried about their drawing ability have finished high-quality manga in the two and a half hours. The instruction and support are built for beginners.

What language is the instruction in?

The workshop is offered in English, Spanish, or Chinese. You choose your language when you book.

Can I bring my own art supplies or do I need to buy anything?

All materials are provided—pens, brushes, screen tones, and everything else you need. You come empty-handed and leave with finished artwork.

What happens if I book alone?

The workshop requires a minimum of two participants. If you book by yourself, you pay the two-person rate. You can invite a friend or family member to join you at the same price.
