The experience
The Martha Brae River sits in Trelawny parish, the birthplace of sprinter Usain Bolt. You'll float down the serene water on a bamboo raft while your captain handles the steering, no paddling required. The river is lined with tropical flowers and bird calls. The pace is slow enough to actually hear them. After the water section, you'll have time to relax on a white sand beach and swim if you want to.
The second half happens after dark. The Luminous Lagoon glows and glistens when the water is disturbed. A phenomenon your guide will explain in detail. The guide may also play Bob Marley songs during the boat ride. Both experiences are included in one booking, and the two complement each other across the afternoon and evening.
Your hotel or resort is your pickup point. The driver stays with you throughout and can take you for a meal after rafting if you'd like before heading back. The itinerary adjusts based on where you're staying, so the timing works around your actual location in the area.
