The experience

The day starts with pickup from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, then a scenic drive along the northern coastline to Puerto Seco Beach in Discovery Bay. Once there, you're harnessed and towed behind a boat, rising into the air under a parachute while the beach and reef unfold below. The parasail itself is the centerpiece, but the location matters: Seven Mile Beach's white sand and shallow waters frame the whole experience, and you see both from above.

After you're back on the sand, the mineral spring becomes the second half. The pool is fed by natural springs and stays open until dark. The water is warm and deep enough to float and swim freely. There's a separate smaller pool, a bar and grill, volleyball court, and cabanas if you want to stay longer. Lifeguards perform 55-foot dives from trees into the spring itself, so there's always something happening in the water. Bring cash for any extras: the bar runs late, and other water sports are available for an additional fee.

The whole outing runs between four and six hours depending on your hotel location and how long you linger at the beach. You'll need a change of clothes and towels. Sunscreen is optional but sensible. The vehicle is air-conditioned for the ride, and a live guide in English is with you throughout.
