The Experience
The tour starts with a pickup from your Ocho Rios or Runaway Bay hotel at 8:30am or 12:30pm, or 30 minutes after your cruise ship docks if you're arriving by water. You travel by air-conditioned minivan or bus with a guide who speaks English and knows the area. The first stop is Konoko Falls Park, where you walk through native river gardens and learn about Jamaica's Taino people. The park sits on a river with cascading falls you can climb, and the grounds hold birds, iguanas and other wildlife you'll spot as you move through.
After Konoko Falls, you head to Blue Hole, a natural pool system fed by underground springs and waterfalls. This is where the physical part opens up: you can cliff jump or dive into the pools, swing on a rope over the water like Tarzan, explore underwater caves, and stand under the gushing water for a natural back massage. A life jacket is provided and included. The water is cool and the setting is deep in the jungle, so the experience feels removed from the usual beach stops. The whole outing takes between 3.5 and 5 hours from start to finish.
Entrance fees to both parks are not included in the tour price—Konoko Falls costs $20 USD for adults and $10 for children aged 3–12, and Blue Hole is $20 USD per person. You pay these on arrival at each site. The minimum booking is two people, and children from age 3 are welcome. If you're traveling with an infant, specialized seats are available in the vehicle.
