The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel or cruise ship, then transport through the countryside where your driver shares the history and culture of Jamaica along the way. This isn't just a ride. The journey itself frames what you're about to do. Once you arrive at the riding location, you're assigned a horse and a guide if you've never ridden before. Even if you have experience, guides stay with the group to navigate, assist anyone who needs it, and lead the way.
From there, a five-minute ride on a path takes you down to the beach. You'll stop to take photos on the sand, then ride your horse directly into the ocean. The waves and the Caribbean are the point, not a quick pass but time in the water on horseback, something most riders don't get to do anywhere else.
The whole experience is built around what you do, not what you watch. Bring water shoes, sun cream, a camera and a towel for each person in your group. A minimum of two people is required to book, and the guide speaks English throughout.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What's the ride itself like once I'm on the horse?
You ride a five-minute path from the riding location down to the beach, then ride the horse into the ocean waves. The beach time and the ocean ride are the core of the experience. Guides lead the way and help less experienced riders stay comfortable in the water.
Do I need to know how to ride a horse already?
No. A guide is assigned to you if you have no experience riding. Even experienced riders have guides in the group to navigate and assist, so the activity is set up for mixed skill levels.
What does the drive to the riding location involve?
Your driver educates you about Jamaica's history, culture and landmarks along the route. The transport is by air-conditioned vehicle, and the educational part of the journey is part of what makes this more than just the riding itself.
Can cruise ship passengers book this?
Yes. Cruise passengers can book port pickup and drop-off instead of hotel pickup. You'll need to provide your ship name, docking time, number of people, and your disembarkation and re-boarding times at the time of booking.
What should I bring or wear?
Bring water shoes, sun cream, a camera and one towel per person. You'll be in the ocean on horseback, so wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and that won't restrict movement.
