The experience

The tour starts with Dunn's River Falls, a 600-foot waterfall that you climb in stages with your guide. The water flows over natural limestone steps, and you move upward through the cascade itself, not alongside it. The guide leads the way and helps you find footing on the wet rock. Bring swimwear and water shoes if you have them. The rocks are slippery and the climb is the main event of the morning.

After lunch, you head to Blue Hole River Adventure park, where the day shifts from climbing to exploring. You walk along the river and stop at several waterfalls and natural pools. Some are deep enough to swim in. Others are smaller rock pools where you can float or get a massage in the swirling water. The park also has a rope swing that lets you swing out over a pool and drop in: the kind of thing that looks more dramatic than it is, but it's there if you want it. You choose what to do at each stop. The guide is with you but the pace is yours.

Hotel pickup is included and runs from Montego Bay hotels as well as from Trelawny properties like Royalton, Excellence, Ocean Resorts and Riu Aquarelle. The tour is five hours total. Lunch is part of the package. Children from age 3 can join. Infants can sit on an adult's lap, and specialized infant seats are available if you need one.
