At Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica's most-visited attraction, you climb the cascading tiers with a guide who stays with you from the bottom up. You can exit at any point if the height or the current feels like too much. The water is cold and the rocks are slick, so footing matters. At Blue Hole, the experience flips: instead of climbing, you hike to a smaller falls, then move between swimming holes, rope swings, and cliff jumps. The lagoons are fed by a natural spring, so the water stays clear and cold year-round.

The 5 hours includes drive time between the two sites and back to the port, so the actual time in the water is less than that span. Wear shoes with grip (the rocks at both falls are slippery when wet), and bring a towel and a change of clothes. The guide speaks English and knows the safest entry points and exit routes at each stop. If climbing Dunn's River doesn't appeal, the boardwalk runs alongside the falls so you can photograph and view without the hike.
