The experience

You start by meeting your guide, who drives a six-seat golf cart that moves through Rome's streets and piazzas without the fatigue of walking. At the beginning, you tell your guide which sites matter most to you (the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Fontana dell'Acqua Paola, Caelian Hill, the Theater of Marcellus, or quieter corners like the Mouth of Truth and the Jewish Ghetto), and together you plan a route that actually fits your time. A 3-hour tour typically covers 6 to 8 sites. A full-day tour covers roughly twice that. The golf cart does the legwork while you stay fresh and see more than you would on foot.

Along the way, you stop for gelato tastings and suppli (Roman fried rice balls), and on the full-day option you get a lunch break.
