The experience

A Mercedes minivan picks you up at Civitavecchia cruise port and drives you to Rome, where you meet your electric tuk tuk driver at the Pyramid of Caius Cestius. From there, the 3-hour tuk tuk tour winds through the city's center, passing the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum, the Jewish Ghetto, Capitoline Hill, the Mouth of Truth, and Trajan's Market. The vehicle is small enough to navigate Rome's narrow streets and tight piazzas: places a full-size tour bus cannot reach.

The route crosses the Tiber into Trastevere, where you have time to eat gelato or pizza among the old stone streets, then climbs Janiculum Hill for views across the city. You'll see the Pantheon, the Imperial Forums, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona with its Bernini fountain, and Piazza di Spagna's shopping district. The tour ends at Vatican City and St. Peter's Basilica before the tuk tuk driver returns you to your minivan for the drive back to the port.

Entry to the Colosseum and Vatican Museums costs extra and can be arranged on request. The tour includes exterior views of both. Water, wipes and maps are provided.
