Civitavecchia port is about an hour and fifteen minutes from Rome by car. Campo de' Fiori is a stop for lunch or a snack among the market stalls, bars, and restaurants that fill the square. You'll photograph the Vittoriano, the monument to King Vittorio Emanuele; pass the Colosseum (entry tickets sold separately and best booked ahead); see Circus Maximus, where 250,000 spectators once watched chariot races; and visit Piazza della Bocca della Verità, the square made famous by Roman Holiday. St. Peter's Basilica is the final stop, where you can walk inside to see Michelangelo's Pietà, the papal canopy above the altar, and the gilded bronze throne in the apse.

The full day runs about nine hours from pickup to return, with roughly two and a half hours spent on transfers to and from the port. The remaining time is yours to spend on lunch, lingering at a site, or exploring another attraction your driver can suggest. Departure from Rome is at 3pm, with arrival back at Civitavecchia expected around 4:30pm.
