Four landmarks in one morning, seen from a private vehicle with a driver who knows where to stop

A private transfer and panoramic tour combined: your driver picks you up at Civitavecchia port with a nameplate, drives you to Rome, and spends three hours showing you the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and St. Peter's Square from the vehicle and brief stops. You're dropped at your Rome accommodation when the tour ends. The driver provides commentary from the car but does not walk the sites with you. Oversized luggage needs advance approval.

The experience

The driver meets you outside your ship at Civitavecchia holding a sign with your name, then drives you directly to Rome. This is a one-way transfer that doubles as a sightseeing tour, so you're not paying for transport and a separate guided experience. The drive itself is the tour. The vehicle is air-conditioned, fully licensed and insured, and sized to your group: a sedan for two or three people, an MPV or van for larger parties. Vans can navigate closer to the attractions than buses can, which means less walking and more time actually looking at the sites.

The three-hour panoramic tour covers five major landmarks. You'll see the Colosseum, the 2,000-year-old symbol of the Roman Empire; the Roman Forum, which was the center of daily life in ancient Rome; Trevi Fountain, the 26-meter Baroque fountain famous from films like "Roman Holiday" and "La Dolce Vita"; the Spanish Steps, a 1723 staircase climbing between two piazzas; and St. Peter's Square, the Renaissance masterpiece designed by Bramante and Michelangelo. The driver gives basic commentary from the vehicle and can stop for photos and short walks, but does not leave the car to guide you through the sites themselves.

You're allowed one suitcase and one carry-on bag per person. Anything larger needs to be cleared with the operator before your trip. The tour ends with a drop-off at your accommodation in Rome, so you arrive ready to explore on your own or rest before dinner. If your group is larger than eight people, the operator will arrange multiple vehicles that travel together and make the same stops, so you can switch between them as you prefer.

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (5 to 17 years); Infant (under 5): free.

Can the driver stop at each attraction so I can get out and take photos?

Yes. The driver stops at each of the five landmarks and can wait while you walk around and photograph them. The driver stays with the vehicle and provides commentary from inside it, but the stops are built into the three-hour tour so you have time to get out and look.

What is the Colosseum like when we drive past it?

The Colosseum is an imposing construction nearly 2,000 years old and the main symbol of Rome. It shows the scale and engineering of the Roman Empire, and the driver will explain its history and significance as you approach it.

How much luggage can I bring on this transfer?

Each traveler is allowed one suitcase and one carry-on bag. Oversized luggage like surfboards, golf clubs or bikes may have restrictions, so contact the operator before your trip if you're bringing anything larger than standard luggage.

Will the driver wait for me at the port, or do I need to find the meeting point?

Your driver will be waiting for you right outside your ship at Civitavecchia, holding a sign with your name on it. You just need to look for the nameplate when you exit the vessel.

Is this tour private to my group, or will I share the vehicle with other travelers?

This is a private experience for your group only. No other travelers will be in your vehicle, and the tour can be modified or customized if you request changes at booking time.

What happens at the end of the tour?

The driver drops you at your accommodation in Rome. The tour ends there, so you'll have the rest of the day to explore, rest, or make your own plans in the city.
