The driver controls the pace and timing at each stop, so you stay with the group and return to the vehicle on schedule.

From the ancient core, the tour moves to Capitoline Hill (the smallest and most important of Rome's seven hills, with Michelangelo's piazza and views of the Roman Forum from the back side), then Victor Emmanuel II Monument, the enormous white marble landmark that dominates Piazza Venezia. Trevi Fountain comes next, still fed by an aqueduct built in 19 BC and decorated with Bernini's Baroque travertine figures. The Pantheon, built over 1800 years ago, is viewable from the exterior at no cost. If you want to enter the interior, you can request a 10-euro ticket in advance. St. Peter's Basilica, across the Tiber River, is seen from the exterior. You'll view Michelangelo's dome and the piazza but won't enter the basilica itself. The route ends at Janiculum Hill, where monuments to Garibaldi and his wife Anita mark the 1849 battles for Italian unification.

Dockside pickup and dropoff means you don't arrange your own transport from the ship. The vehicle is air-conditioned, and the group stays small, eight passengers maximum.
