Cook two Italian classics in a home kitchen, not a tourist studio

A private hands-on cooking class in Pisa where you learn to make pizza and tiramisu from a local home cook in her own kitchen, then eat what you've made with wine. The class runs three hours and suits families with children of any age. You choose between the class alone or the class plus a full dinner.

The experience

You'll arrive at a Cesarina's home in Pisa: a carefully selected local cook who opens her kitchen to teach the way Italian families actually cook. She'll walk you through making pizza dough and tiramisu from scratch, showing you the techniques her family has used for years. This is not a demonstration: you're doing the work, with her guidance in English or Italian, learning the small moves that separate a flat, dense pizza from one that rises and tastes right.

Once you've finished cooking, you sit down to eat what you've made (pizza and tiramisu), with a selection of local wine and coffee included. The meal is the payoff: you taste the difference between what you just learned and what you'd get from a recipe alone. You'll leave with an official Le Cesarine apron and the confidence to throw a pizza party at home.

The class runs three hours total. Public transportation reaches the home, so you don't need a car to get there. At checkout, you pick between the class by itself or the class plus a full dinner, depending on how much time and appetite you have.

What’s included

  • Private hands-on instruction in pizza and tiramisu making.
  • tasting of both dishes with local wine and coffee.
  • official Le Cesarine apron.
  • water throughout the class.

Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in English and Italian.

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 8 years); Infant (under 4): free.

Can I do this class if I've never cooked pizza before?

Yes. The Cesarina teaches from the beginning, showing you how to mix the dough, work it and let it rise. Families with children of all ages join these classes, so there's no experience required.

What exactly do I make during the three hours?

You make pizza dough and shape it, then prepare tiramisu from scratch. Both are cooked or set during the class so you can taste them before you leave.

Is the wine included, or do I pay extra?

Wine is included with the tasting at the end of the class. Water and coffee are also provided throughout.

What's the difference between the two options at checkout?

The private class includes the cooking, tasting of what you made, and wine. If you pick the class plus dinner option, you get a full meal after the tasting instead of just the dishes you cooked.
